🎉 Join Us in Giving Childhood Back, This Children's Mental Health Awareness Month! 🎉
|
As May begins, we're filled with excitement because together we have the power to rewrite the story for children struggling with mental illness. Today, with your support we are launching our annual Children's Mental Health Awareness Month Campaign to raise $25,000.
Did you know that the average

treatment delay for childhood-onset mental illness is 10 years? That is a decade stolen from the childhoods of millions of kids and teens. Childhood is an important business, we shouldn’t let mental illness take that away.
|
But together, we can bridge the 10-year treatment gap and rewrite the story for children facing mental illness. Can we count on your support this year? It’s easy to make a gift through our safe and secure online giving platform at www.cmhrc.org/donate, or by mailing a contribution to:

By donating to CMHRC, you're not just giving funds—you're giving the gift of childhood. Our flagship programs, including the Palliative ParentingTM course, our school mental health advocacy services, our community outreach, and educational webinars provide families and children with crucial support. With our guidance and resources, more families can bridge the 10-year treatment delay, bringing back the joys, freedoms, and milestones inherent in childhood.

“Had CMHRC been available at the beginning of our arduous journey, my son Michael’s childhood might have been joyful rather than painful while we waited
for a diagnosis that allowed a doctor to treat him successfully.”

Your gift, whether big or small, makes a significant impact on the lives of children and families navigating mental illness. Your contribution will fund vital programs and services that empower children and families to reclaim their lives and thrive.

You Are Not Alone: The NAMI Guide to Navigating Mental Health
Thursday May 16th & June 20th
8:30pm Eastern Time
|
Millions of people in the United States are affected by mental illness every year. The COVID-19 pandemic not only caused new or aggravated symptoms in people, but further exposed the shortcomings of the American mental health system.
Despite advances in telehealth, the healthcare industry remains chaotic, underfunded, and often inaccessible, and many people are asking themselves the same questions: What does it mean when different doctors give me different diagnoses? What if my insurance company won’t cover my treatment? Will I have to be on medication my whole life? Will I ever feel better?
|
Too many of us are confused, afraid, and overwhelmed. Families and friends are often left in the dark about how best to help their loved ones, how to deal with financial and logistical issues, and how to handle the emotional challenges of loving someone who is suffering.
