CMHRC Launches Palliative ParentingTM On Demand Course

Many parents wind up on our doorstep at CMHRC because other parenting models don't take into consideration the one thing they need the most: help managing the involuntary dysregulation that kids with mental health conditions experience.

CHMRC's parenting approach, called Palliative ParentingTM, is different than other models. Instead of focusing on “fixing” behaviors or “curing an illness,” Palliative ParentingTM is designed to do one simple thing: improve quality of life for both children and parents.

We at CMHRC have been teaching this new parenting approach in small groups for several years. Now, we are launching an exciting new way to access the Palliative ParentingTM course and community.

Online, On-Demand, At Your Convenience

Parents are clamoring for access to our live, face-to-face course. From hectic work and home schedules, to waiting lists for the face-to-face sessions, it has been a challenge for some parents to join us. We've had to be creative to make sure every parent who wants to participate has the chance.

Now parents and caregivers can access all of the content in our on-demand, self-guided, video course on their own schedule, with no waiting.

Everything You Need To Get Started

This new course puts together all the essential parts of the face-to-face course while giving participants the flexibility that can only come from a self-guided program. Each course option has everything needed to begin your Palliative ParentingTM journey.

Whether you choose the Basic, Standard, or Premium course option, you'll have access to more than 13 hours of bite-sized video content including:

  • The same presentations as are used in the live face-to-face course.
  • Q&A videos with questions that have come directly from live class sessions.
  • Real life, personal, parent & caregiver testimonials telling how they have put the principles of Palliative ParentingTM into practice every day, at home.

Upgrade to the Standard course and you'll receive a free digital copy of CMHRC's exclusive Palliative ParentingTM Workbook and a one hour private, parenting support session.

The Premium course adds even more, with one year's access to a monthly live group session with Palliative ParentingTM experts. These monthly, ninety minute sessions (via online video conference) connect you with other parents who are putting the Palliative ParentingTM principles into practice. Plus, you'll have Palliative ParentingTM experts live on the call to answer all of your questions.

🎉 Introductory Discounts 🎉

Best of all, for a limited time, we're offering $50 off the Standard or the Premium course levels.

This means you can buy the Palliative ParentingTM course today, at a discount, and you'll have access to it whenever your schedule allows. Plus, you'll never have to worry about missing a class!

Don't Wait, Give Thanks Now

As the Thanksgiving season approaches, so does CMHRC's annual 'Giving Thanks' campaign. While we typically think of November as a time of reflection and generosity, you don't have to wait to make an impact. Your early gift can bring hope and support right now to children and families facing mental health challenges.

Act Today, Change Lives

Don't wait until November. By giving today, you are not just getting ahead of the holiday rush, you're giving children and families the hope and resources they urgently need. Early gifts like yours help us hit the ground running, ensuring that we can provide critical support during the holiday season. Your contribution can have a big impact for those who need it most.

Monthly Giving for an Ongoing Impact

Take your support further by becoming a monthly donor. With a monthly gift, you provide sustained support that allows us to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.A recurring contribution means steady support—and that’s how real change happens!

FREE 2-PART CLINICAL SEMINAR SERIES FOR PROFESSIONALS

Fight, Flight, Freeze: The Limbic System and Behavior Dysregulation Part 1

October 23rd, 5:00pm Eastern Time

Traditional behavior modification techniques often don't work for children and teens with mood disorders, bipolar disorder, and FOH. This causes frustration for kids, parents, teachers, and providers.

Join us for a two-part series to learn about the role the limbic system plays in common symptoms and behaviors associated with mood disorders and bipolar in children and teens. Part 1 on October 23rd will focus on learning about how different parts of the limbic system contribute to symptoms and behaviors that have traditionally been labeled "psychiatric" and considered to be "willful". Part 2 on November 20th will focus on de-escalation, and on how to use your knowledge of the limbic system to help in times of crisis.

BOOK CLUB

I'm Not Sick, I Don't Need Help

by Xavier Amador

October 17th, 8:30pm Eastern Time

Dr. Amador's research on poor insight was inspired by his success helping his brother Henry, who had schizophrenia, accept treatment. Like tens of millions of others diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and addictions, Henry did not believe he was ill.

This latest edition has been updated with new research on anosognosia (lack of insight) and provides expanded guidance on how to learn and use Dr. Amador's LEAP process. Join us for a conversation on lack of insight and how to help someone accept treatment.

Book club sessions have a $5 fee to attend (plus the cost of the book if you opt to purchase it through CMHRC). This fee helps us staff the book club session. We appreciate your support.
