Studying Palliative ParentingTM |
We know just how isolating and confusing it can be to parent a child or teen with mental or physical health conditions. Our unique parenting approach was developed by CMHRC mental health professionals, parents, and adults with lived experience who know first hand how to survive and thrive with mental illness. Now, for a limited time, you can access Palliative ParentingTM at no cost! |
Making Palliative ParentingTM Count |
This is the parenting model that the professionals at CMHRC use at home with their own children, both neurotypical and neurodivergent. That's how much we believe in this approach. Palliative ParentingTM isn't something we only teach to other people. We live it. It is a way of life for each and every one of us. We're ready to prove that it works. Are you ready to help us?
|
What Is Palliative ParentingTM? |
As you may already know, CMHRC's parenting model, called Palliative ParentingTM, was created in collaboration among our mental health professionals, parents, and adults with the lived experience. This approach focuses on reducing isolation and improving quality of life for the whole family. |
Palliative ParentingTM brings together parents and caregivers into a community, while providing tools to reduce symptoms, manage challenging behaviors, and nurture relationships. With included psychoeducation on the presentation of mood disorders in childhood and adolescence, this course is intended to equip parents and caregivers with the knowledge they need to understand the mental health hurdles their children face. |
Join The Study and Participate at No Cost |
Parents and caregivers willing to participate in the Palliative ParentingTM class; complete before, after, and follow-up surveys; and keep track of their children's daily behaviors and symptoms may be eligible to participate in this study at no cost. After eight months of treatment in a mental health facility for bipolar disorder, Patrizio “Pat” Solitano Jr. is released into the care of his parents, Patrizio Sr. and Dolores. His primary focus is to reconcile with his ex-wife, Nikki who has not only moved away but she’s obtained a restraining order against him. Pat’s therapist tries to convince him to keep taking his medication to avoid a relapse that might send him back to the hospital. Pat tells him that he has a new outlook on life: He attempts to see the good, or silver linings, in all that he experiences.

With Your Contribution We Can Begin to Turn The Tide On The Mental Health Crisis
|
At CMHRC, we believe that everyone deserves access to effective mental health care, and we are committed to breaking down the barriers that prevent people from getting the help they need. |
But we can’t do it alone. We are asking for your support in raising crucial funds to:
|
-
Increase awareness and education about mental health, so that recognition happens sooner and more families seek help.
-
Advocate for better resources and access to care, ensuring that those who are diagnosed can receive timely, effective treatment.
-
Provide direct support to individuals and families who are struggling, with services that address their unique needs.
|
Every donation makes a real difference. For example: |
- A gift of $50 can help us provide critical mental health resources and support for a family in need.
- A gift of $200 can fund an outreach campaign to raise awareness and reduce stigma.
- A donation of $500 can sponsor a workshop to train healthcare professionals on recognizing and treating mental health conditions in childhood.
|
When parents and families have access to the guidance and resources we offer, everything changes for the better for the child, the parents, and the whole family. |
