CMHRC's mission is to provide guidance and resources for early identification of mood disorders, bipolar disorder, and Fear of Harm. It's important to make sure this support is available to as many people as possible, and we do this through our free resources. In this month's newsletter we're going to share with you details about each program and how we share information and support with families and practitioners. 

Webinars

CMHRC hosts monthly informational webinars on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:30-8:30pm eastern time via Zoom. These events are free and open to the public. Click here for topic and registration.

Clinical Seminars for Professionals

CMHRC hosts monthly clinical seminars on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 5:00-6:30pm eastern time via Zoom. These events are free and for mental health practitioners, educators, and other professionals. Click here for topic and registration. 

Weekly Drop-In For Parents & Caregivers

Tuesday evenings from 8:00-9:00pm eastern time CMHRC volunteers host a free Drop-In session for parents and caregivers who are interested in learning more about our services and support. (Limit 4 sessions) Click here for details and to register. 

Book Club

Each month CMHRC hosts a free, online, Book Club meeting for parents, caregivers, and practitioners who are interested in discussing books related to mental health, mental illness, parenting, and more. Click here for details and to register.

Cooling Strategies & Cooling Plans

July 19th, 7:30pm Eastern Time

 

Cool, cool, cooling for the hot, hot, summer. Families and practitioners alike, come learn about how to use simple at home cooling strategies to manage Fear of Harm symptoms all summer long. We’ll go over how to build a plan to integrate these

 thermoregulation techniques into daily life. Each goes a long way to reducing overheating and making sleep, moods, and all of daily life more manageable.

Have you heard us use the term “Fear of Harm” and want to know more? “Fear of Harm” is the name used for a newly identified phenotype of bipolar disorder, and it’s not as rare as you might think. Researchers estimate that more than 1/3 of all those with bipolar also have the Fear of 

Harm Phenotype. That upwards of 250,000 children and 2 million adults in the US alone.
