Highlights from 2025

2025 has been a busy and exiting year at CMHRC! We've traveled the world collaborating with fellow professionals, provided counsel and comfort to countless families, and expanded our programs and services to meet the growing needs of our diverse community. As the year draws to a close, we want you to know your support has made this work possible, and your gifts have had a powerful impact on our community. Thank you

Today, we're going to highlight four projects that we poured our heart and soul into this year and one we're excited to announce for next year!

  • Ketogenic Therapy in Action! Study
  • Continuing Education Credit Program
  • The Coalition for Metabolic Health
  • Collaborations Across the Globe
  • Book & Movie Club

Ketogenic Therapy in Action!

In 2025, we completed our pilot study on ketogenic therapy in the treatment of bipolar in children ages 6-17.

“This study has changed the quality of life available for my child and our family. We have seen a significant decrease in symptoms, but more we have seen the light come back to our child’s eyes and we have seen them begin to actually play again. This study has unlocked the cage that has been holding my child hostage and allowed them to be free again.” - Participant in the Ketogenic Therapy in Action! study

It was such a success that we're ready for more in 2026! In January we will expand this project to include children and teens between ages 6 and 20 with any mood disorder. Don't miss out! We'll be honored for you to join us on the next leg of the journey.

Continuing Education Credits

Our successful 2-Day Live Conference on Childhood Bipolar was just the beginning! We'll be hosting that conference again in February of 2026, so stay tuned for information on how and when to sign up.

We also have a continuing education portal, with live, recorded, and reading based training events and opportunities. Create a free account to see all of the courses we have to offer!

CMHRC's respected education programs combined with our mission to offer guidance and resources for the early identification and management of mood disorders positions us to meet the growing need for trustworthy information on childhood onset bipolar disorder.

Coalition for Metabolic Health

This year, we were proud to announce that CMHRC executive director, Elizabeth Errico, was appointed to the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Committee of the Coalition for Metabolic Health.

Collaboration between these two nonprofits is incredibly important, as CMHRC and the Coalition for Metabolic Health work side-by-side to raise awareness on the profound connection between metabolic health and mental health. After an exciting meeting in Washington DC this fall, the Coalition is poised to shine a light on the importance of metabolic treatments for mental and physical health.

Collaborations Across the Globe

As our community grows, the world gets smaller. Through professional collaborations with researchers and clinicians from Scotland to Australia to Oslo to Toronto, we're developing relationships that benefit the providers and families we work with every day.

One family from Poland shared this message with us about how CMHRC has helped them on their journey:

"To all of CMHRC, thank you for everything you are doing. You helped my child get his life back. It is hard to describe this feeling with words. I also cannot describe the kindness and empathy that radiates from all of you. It is not only about top-level knowledge, it is also about true humanity. I will remember you for the rest of my life. My happy child is the best proof that you are saving lives."

Book & Movie Club

We're are so excited and couldn't wait a moment longer to announce that starting in 2026, in addition to our popular Book Club, we're introducing a Movie Club as well! Beginning in January, every other month we'll get together to talk about a movie related to mental health, and on the alternating months, we'll read a book.

Best of all, in January 2026 we're kicking off the Movie Club with a documentary featuring CMHRC's own Executive Director Elizabeth Errico and Clinical Director Jennifer Sevick. This is a can't miss event!

This club is for parents, caregivers, educators, and practitioners who are interested in watching films and reading books related to mental health, mental illness, parenting, and more. Join our welcoming community for lively, engaging, and supportive discussion of our eclectic selection of books and movies.
